DJ Orion Traver has a galaxy of musical knowledge under his belt. He humbly began his career in 2005 DJing house parties in his Williamsburg loft, moved on to local bars where he developed a dance-happy following, and now provides audible amusement at venues all over New York City. His weekly stints include a hip-hop night, a pop party, and a totally gnarly ’80s bash where he delights an eclectic mix of crowds with set lists that transcend the norm.

“I’m really fond of re-edits of classic songs that add a little more energy and dance-ability without betraying its roots,” Traver says.

Twists on musical staples and providing strong selections from an assortment of genres is a great way to satisfy the diverse sensibilities of the masses — like the guests attending your wedding reception. Avoid friends and family begrudgingly taking part in “The Electric Slide” and use Traver’s sample playlist below as a springboard for your own signature soundtrack. Add in songs that are significant to you and your partner and end your special day on a high note.
